We’re formalising our entries to the Suffolk league ahead of the entry deadline of 31st July 2022. The season runs September to April with matches starting at 7:30pm finishing around 11pm. Our furthest matches are in Clacton, Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury.
Please let us know if you’re interested in playing league chess by 21st July . Any standard of play can be accommodated and any level of commitment is welcome.
Competitions
League teams have, historically, played ~14 matches and with Cup teams playing ~8 matches. We’re looking to participate in the following competitions:
Suffolk League Division 1 (median rating ~2000)
U1800 Cup
Suffolk League Division 3 ( median rating ~1500) or U1650 Cup
Time Control: 1 hours 15mins +15 secs/move each
Fees
Like last season, we plan to play in the Deben Annexe of the Woodbridge Community Hall. To do this, we will need charge a team membership fee. The fee has not yet been determined but will be similar to the £30 fee for the 21/22 season . Additionally, players will need to be at least Bronze members of the ECF (see https://www.englishchess.org.uk/ecf-membership-rates-and-joining-details/).
