Eight members of the club descended on the Royal Bengal for our Christmas knees up. It transpired Social Secretary Chris Skirrow had been patronising this charming curry house for over 30 years (which given his tender years is quite an achievement)! We were soon escorted over to, presumably, Chris’ favourite table and the feasting commenced. So consumed were we by the food, not a single chess move was played at all – despite Tim bringing a set just in case.
